Dear fans of space,
You can never have too much good news, and today we have one you can actually touch. Literally. Because we are now holding in our hands the very first piece of the puzzle that will eventually become the unique BRNOsat satellite. For now it is only a prototype, but without it no flight model would ever come to life.

What you are looking at is a prototype of the main board for two cameras that will be part of the satellite’s onboard equipment. It is exactly on samples like these that we fine tune details, look for weak spots, and eliminate imperfections. In short, we do everything we can so that we are not pulling out the last remaining strands of our hair only after reaching orbit.
And the best part? This is just the beginning.
The year 2026 will be a turning point for BRNOsat. Key contracts await, followed by hardware manufacturing and testing, transport to the launch site, and if everything goes really well, a journey to orbit before the end of the year.
You will be able to follow the entire project step by step with us. The Brno Observatory and Planetarium is also preparing a wide range of activities for children, students, and the general public. Who knows, maybe you will head to orbit around our beautiful planet together with BRNOsat as well.
