Dear Space Enthusiasts,
As we close
the chapter on an exciting and eventful year, it's time to reflect on
Spacemanic's journey through space-time of 2024 and share a glimpse into what
lies ahead in 2025.
Milestones
of 2024
· Three New CubeSats in Orbit: We successfully launched three CubeSats:
o
GRBBeta – 4th and largest Slovak
satellite, successor of the renowned GRBAlpha
o
CroCube – 1st Croatian satellite
o
LASARSAT – a CubeSat created thanks to the ambitious
team of Czech highschoolers
- A New Home: To support our growing team
and operations, we moved into a larger premises with more space for our
labs, offices and last but not least, some recreational facilities like our
beloved table football.
- The CORVUS project nearing the finish line: We have continued to make good work on the CORVUS project. This project is a part of the ESA Pioneer program and entails development of a versatile and scalable nanosatellite platform. We have completed multiple important milestones and are currently just a little Δv away from bringing this advanced platform to the market.
- Joining the Newspace Advisory
Board (NAB):
Spacemanic became a part of the Newspace
Advisory Board. The board’s primary mission is to offer ESA actionable
insights and strategic recommendations on shaping a robust
commercialization policy that meets the evolving needs of the NewSpace
sector. Being a member of the board allows us to contribute our expertise
and vision to shape the future of space exploration and commercialization.
- Winning the Prix Bulles Pierre
Cardin: We
were honored with this prestigious award for our innovative WaterCube
project, a sea pollution detection system based on CubeSat technology.
- Payload on Blue Origin’s New Shepard mission, NS-27:Spacemanic proudly participated in Blue Origin's recent mission with the debut of their second human-rated New Shepard rocket, carrying Amaranthine Books' payload to suborbital space. This collaboration highlights Spacemanic's commitment to enabling diverse projects in space, from scientific research to unique cultural initiatives.
- Winning the First
European-Japanese Space Startup Competition 2024: Spacemanic was selected as one
of the winners of this competition,
hosted by ESA and the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science, and Technology. The competition aimed to identify innovative
startups with strong potential for advancing space-related technologies
and supporting international cooperation.
- New Partnerships: Collaboration is at the core
of our success, and this year we established new partnerships that will
drive different projects and innovations, including Memorandum
of understanding with HyImpulse, a leading German SME in aerospace
innovation, to collaborate on launch services.
- Many baloons: We have launched 5 stratospheric balloons for different customers, both for commercial and scientific purposes. The most notable of these is the mission we carried out for LEGO, when we launched a shuttle with hundreds of LEGO astronauts 35 km high.
- Global Presence: In 2024, we attended more than
10 international conferences across the globe. From Tokyo to Prague, you
could meet us practically anywhere on the face of our blue planet.

Ahead to 2025
The
upcoming year promises even more opportunities for collaboration, growth, and
engagement with the global space community. Here are some key events where you
can meet us in 2025:
- Winter Satellite Workshop 2025
(January 21–23, 2025, Espoo, Finland): Known as the largest New Space meeting in
Finland, Scandinavia, and the Baltic countries, this workshop brings
together space technology specialists, scientists, and students to discuss
topics such as small satellite missions, Earth observation, and sustainable
space utilization.
- Small Satellites & Services
International Forum (SSSIF) (February 18–20, 2025, Málaga, Spain): This forum gathers experts,
researchers, and industry leaders to discuss advancements in small
satellite technology and services. It serves as an excellent platform for
collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- The 39th Annual Small Satellite
Conference – SmallSat (August 11–13, 2025, Salt Lake City, Utah): One of the most anticipated
events in the small satellite industry, this conference attracts global
experts and innovators. We'll be showcasing our latest technologies and
exploring opportunities for future partnerships.
- Czech Space Week 2025 (November
4–10, 2025, Czech Republic): The largest festival of space activities in the Czech Republic,
featuring events for professionals, students, and space enthusiasts.
Activities include the Space2Business conference, Copernicus User Forum,
Space Gala, and Space4Women motivational talks.
