This week,
we were honored to host a distinguished Slovak delegation at our Spacemanic
office in Brno, which included the Slovak Ambassador to Czechia, Ingrid
Brocková, and the Slovak Minister of Education, Tomáš Drucker. The visit
provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our work and engage in meaningful
discussions about the future of space innovation and education.
During
their time with us, we delved into various topics, starting with an overview of
Spacemanic’s operations and our contributions to the space industry. Our
visitors were particularly interested in our CubeSat platforms and
nanosatellite technologies since all 4 Slovak satellites launched into space so
far have been Cubesats and built by Spacemanic.
A key theme
of the discussions was the importance of the European Space Agency (ESA) in supporting
international collaboration and the potential for Slovak universities and
companies to play a larger role in space-related projects. We explored ideas
for strengthening the connection between academic institutions and businesses,
highlighting the value of hands-on, high-impact educational initiatives.
The
delegation also visited our laboratory, where we showed the processes and tools
we use to develop and test our satellite solutions. This hands-on look provided
insight into the cutting-edge work being done at Spacemanic with a goal to
democratize access to space.
Finally, we
touched upon the educational potential of CubeSats. These miniature satellites
are not just a gateway to space but also an invaluable tool for inspiring the
next generation of engineers, scientists, and innovators. Their adaptability
and affordability make them ideal for student-led projects and university
research, reinforcing the connection between space exploration and education.
The visit
reinforced our shared commitment to advancing the space sector in Slovakia and
beyond, and we are excited about the possibilities for collaboration that lie
ahead. Thank you to Ambassador Brocková and Minister Drucker for their interest
and support—it was a pleasure to host you!
