As the year comes to a close, Spacemanic is gearing up for an exciting milestone. Two CubeSats built by our team, CroCube and LASARsat, are set to launch NET December aboard SpaceX’s Bandwagon 2 rideshare mission. This launch marks a significant step forward for Spacemanic as we edge closer to completing our tenth mission, a testament to our dedication to advancing space technology.
CroCube is a pioneering project aimed at assembling and launching Croatia's first nanosatellite. This 1U satellite is equipped with a camera and the first Croatian hardware to fly to space - a nanosatellite module called Astrotron 1000. The primary goal of the mission is to capture images of the Earth and hopefully create the first image of Croatia from space on a proprietary spacecraft. You can learn more about CroCube’s mission here.
LASARsat is a student-led mission that emphasizes education and hands-on experience. LASARsat will serve as a target for laser testing in collaboration with the HiLASE laser center. The CubeSat is equipped with various scientific instruments, including photodiodes, a plasma detector, and corner reflectors, to study the laser's effects and contribute to solving the growing problem of space debris, which poses significant risks to future space missions and even to our everyday lives on the surface of the Earth. Details about LASARsat’s mission can be found here.
After the launch, space enthusiasts and professionals alike can follow the progress of both CubeSats. Real-time updates will be available via these links:
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch date. We look forward to sharing the success of CroCube, LASARsat, and our continued journey through spacetime.
