The International
Astronautical Congress (IAC 2024) was nothing short of monumental! Held for
the 75th time, it united the global space community in one of space history's
most diverse and record-breaking gatherings. Hosted by the Italian
Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA), alongside the Italian
Space Agency (ASI) and Leonardo, IAC 2024 set new milestones for the
space industry. With over 11,200 delegates from 120 countries—plus
an additional 3,500 public attendees and 3,000 online viewers—this
was the largest and most diverse IAC in history.
Under the motto
“Responsible Space for Sustainability,” IAC 2024 showcased the
ever-growing importance of space in addressing global challenges. From the 530+
exhibitors at the Exhibition Hall, which included stunning displays such as
lunar samples from China’s Chang’e 6 mission to NASA’s OSIRIS-REx
asteroid samples.
For the Spacemanic
team, the week was an opportunity to build new partnerships and plan exciting future
missions. We engaged with clients, collaborated on upcoming satellite projects,
and explored new ways to push the boundaries of space exploration. We also
spent a good chunk of time marveling at Axiom Space’s AxEMU lunar
spacesuit, designed in collaboration with Prada, which will be used in NASA’s
Artemis III mission. The combination of high-performance materials,
cutting-edge technology, and sleek design made the suit a major highlight for
us and many others attending the exhibition.
Spacemanic is gearing up for a busy fall ahead with key
events being, Czech Space Week and Space Tech Expo in Bremen,
Germany. These events will give us even more opportunities to expand our
mission portfolio and continue contributing to the growing space industry.
