Earlier
this year, Spacemanic has been selected as a member of the prestigious NewSpace
Advisory Board of the European Space Agency (ESA). This remarkable
opportunity aligns perfectly with our ongoing mission to shape the future of
the NewSpace sector, and we are honored to join a community of key
players in this dynamic ecosystem.
What is
the NewSpace Advisory Board?
The NewSpace
Advisory Board was created by ESA to guide its commercialization efforts
and assist with its transition into a new era of space exploration and
commercialization. The board’s primary mission is to offer ESA actionable
insights and strategic recommendations on shaping a robust commercialization
policy that meets the evolving needs of the NewSpace sector.
With the
rapid emergence of new players and the growing competition in the global space
industry, ESA recognizes the need to adapt. This includes navigating the
complex business environment that balances institutional customers with
commercial entities, all while driving innovation and growth.
Spacemanic's
Role on the NewSpace Advisory Board
Having
played an active role in the NewSpace community for several years,
Spacemanic brings invaluable hands-on experience. Our expertise, gained from 8
successful NewSpace satellite missions, positions us to offer critical
insights that can help shape the sector's future. As we continue to push
boundaries, we believe our contributions will support ESA in becoming a pivotal
force for commercial space development in Europe.
Our CEO, Jakub
Kapuš, was present at the board's first meeting in Paris, where he provided
industry insights and shared Spacemanic’s vision for the future of space
commercialization.
We are
eager to work alongside other innovative companies such as AIKO, ConstellR,
D-Orbit, EnduroSat, Exolaunch, GeoVille, Iceye, Infinite Orbits, Kayrros, Open Cosmos, Pangea
Aerospace, Rocket Factory Augsburg, and The Exploration Company.
Shaping
the Future of Space Commercialization in Europe
As part of
the NewSpace Advisory Board, our focus, alongside other board members,
is guided by two key pillars:
The
NewSpace Advisory Board aims to help ESA chart a course for the future by
creating a policy that supports the commercialization of space technology while
addressing the challenges of competition, funding, and customer diversity.
