Announcing MARINA: The 5th Slovak Satellite

SOMETHING BIG IS COMING! 🚀

This year, we will fly 590 kilometers above Earth to measure space radiation aboard the Marina 1U CubeSat mission, developed within Satellites with Meaning (SWM) initiative, co-founded by Boris Procik and Charles Hodossy.

The CubeSat is built by Spacemanic and operated by the Faculty of Aeronautics at the Technical University of Košice, while ADVASPACE Radiation Data delivers the scientific payload — the MiniPix SPACE space-weather detector.

Marina reflects the personal motivation behind the SWM initiative — a privately initiated space mission platform that brings together technology, symbolism, and space weather monitoring. The mission name carries a personal meaning for its initiators, underscoring the human dimension behind this project.
